Religious Accommodation Requests
Columbia Residential is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive housing experience for all students. Recognizing that religious observance may require accommodations, Columbia Residential engages in an interactive process to assess and determine reasonable requests for situations that create undue hardship or prevent the practice of their religious traditions.
Columbia Residential will consult with the Office of Religious Life as needed for guidance and support resources.
Submitting a Religious Accommodation Request
To request housing accommodations related to religious observance, students must submit the following documentation within five (5) business days of submitting their housing application:
The Religious Accommodation Request Form must be submitted within five (5) business days of applying for housing.
- This must be completed in its entirety.
- Form must be and by both the student requesting the accommodation and their religious leader.
- The religious leader's contact information must be included for verification purposes.
- This statement must be on official letterhead from the religious leader’s organization.
- The letter should affirm the student’s current and sincerely held religious or faith-based practice and support the request for reasonable accommodation.
If Columbia Residential determines that false information was submitted, the request may be denied, and the housing contract may be subject to cancellation.
For questions or additional information, students are encouraged to contact Columbia Residential directly.
