Ashly Medina Velazquez

Ashly Medina Velazquez is the Analyst, Strategic Operations for Columbia Residential, where she plays a critical cross-functional role supporting the leasing, operations, and construction teams in managing and enhancing Columbia University’s graduate student and faculty housing portfolio.

Ashly leads initiatives that leverage data analytics, workflow development, and process standardization to improve operational efficiency and strategic planning across the department. She collaborates with stakeholders to evaluate legacy data, assess cost trends, and forecast capital expenditures, contributing to more informed decisions on resource allocation and long-term infrastructure planning.

A core part of her work involves designing and implementing standardized workflows and reporting systems that streamline communication and ensure consistency across departments. These efforts have strengthened interdepartmental coordination, improved visibility into project and operational performance, and enabled more agile, data-driven decision-making.

Since joining Columbia Residential in January 2023, Ashly has become a central figure in developing sustainable systems that support the execution of construction projects, the optimization of leasing operations, and the efficient management of day-to-day housing services.

A proud Columbia alum, Ashly holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with a Minor in Economics from the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. Her technical background and strategic approach position her to drive innovation through process improvement, systems thinking, and analytics.
