Emergency Contact

Columbia Residential encourages all residents to provide emergency contact information to ensure that the University can offer timely support in urgent situations.

All residents may designate an emergency contact, who will be notified by the University if an emergency arises or if the resident is reported missing by Public Safety or local law enforcement.

  • Emergency contact details are kept strictly confidential and are accessible only to authorized campus officials and law enforcement.
  • This information will be shared only in the course of a missing person investigation.
  • Residents can update their emergency contact information at any time in the Tenant Profile tab of the Housing Portal.


Maintaining accurate emergency contact information helps the University respond quickly and provide peace of mind for residents and their families.
