Canceling Housing | Faculty & Postdocs
Faculty and Postdocs may cancel their housing at any time; however, they are encouraged to review the cancellation policy below to understand any applicable charges or fees.
Faculty and postdocs who accept a housing offer but later decide not to move in or defer their appointment with the University must notify Columbia Residential by emailing [email protected].
Residents who do not provide advance notice will be responsible for rent from the scheduled move-in date until the cancellation is confirmed.
Faculty and postdoc residents who choose to cancel and terminate their housing agreement must submit a Move-Out Notification through the Housing Portal. A minimum of 60 days’ notice is required prior to the move-out date. If less than 60 days’ notice is provided, a $500 cancellation fee may apply.
